Some Things Haven't Changed

Author: Steve Moskal

This year, 2022, has probably been the most challenging many in the trade show and event worlds have faced. There have been shortages of materials and labor, increased costs, ROI uncertainty and challenges managing expectations.

And speaking of cost increases, UPS is raising rates about 7%. This follows unprecedented increases over the last year in regular OTR freight and material handling. And don’t get me started on material handling.

Planning Ahead Can Be Easier on the Feet

Author: Steve Moskal

A friend of mine ran his first marathon last fall.

He set the goal of successfully finishing the race almost two years earlier. He started with 5k races. I know the first few were more walking than running, as my friend was not an experienced runner, and had been a smoker for several years.

From 5ks, he went to 10ks and then two half marathons before tackling the final goal. When I asked why he started preparing so far in advance, he said his goals were to finish, finish with what he felt was a reasonable time, and to come away without any injuries.

Establishing Budgets and Saving Money in 2016

Author: Steve Moskal

Every year when December rolls around, we generally are talking with customers and prospects about one of three things....

For the first conversation, there is money left in the budget that needs to be spent. Sometimes the funds are used as a deposit for a project that needs to start after the first of the year. Or, there’s a flourish of activity to get artwork or invoices together by a certain date in December, so the project can either be delivered and paid for, or simply paid for by the end of the year.

So...

Author: Steve Moskal

So... you want to take an island space at one of your annual trade shows.

Your company has grown from a simple 10’ inline with two sales people collecting leads, to a 20’ space with more function. You added a salesperson, integrated a 42” monitor on the backwall and included a special counter with storage for literature and give-aways. The exhibit even featured a small seating area for more in-depth conversations.
